Description:

DUTIES SUMMARY

Independently performs highly skilled and difficult work using Geographic Information System (GIS) software and applications; creates, enters, verifies and edits GIS data and other related datasets; researches and interprets information from a variety of sources in order to create and maintain GIS data; digitizes, scans, processes, georeferences and orthorectifies maps, imagery, remote sensed data and other documents; creates maps, plans, exhibits and other GIS products; and performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Training and Experience: A combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and three years of GIS, cartographic or drafting experience, at two of which shall have included using GIS software and other related software or applications.

License Requirement: Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Hawaii (equivalent to Hawaii Type 3).

Citizenship and Residence: All persons seeking employment with the government of the State or in the service of any county shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States at the time of their application for employment and shall become residents of the State within thirty (30) days after beginning their employment and as a condition of eligibility for continued employment. You must provide evidence verifying your citizenship or alien registration status and employment authorization in the United States at the time of application.
