2012 Poster Contest Results
Water Conservation Poster Contest Draws 543 Entries
The Department of Water Supply’s 3rd Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest drew 543 entries from public, private and home schools countywide. The goal of the contest was to educate Maui Nui’s youth on the importance of water conservation and to encourage them to take an active role in ensuring the sustainability of our islands’ water supply. These year’s theme is “Malama I Ka Wai," or to take care of the water.

The contest entries were evaluated based on water conservation message, originality, and visual effectiveness – neatness and creativity. The first through third place winners will receive U.S. Savings Bonds, $100 for first place; $75 for second; and $50 for third. Winning entries and honorable mentions will be featured in the 2013 DWS Water Conservation Calendar, and will be honored on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in the Mayor’s office in Wailuku.
